Dear Families, 

This week was Métis week and students were engaged in learning more about the rich culture and heritage of Métis people. We were all also treated to some delicious Bannock made by our Kindergarten students! 

School Conferences November 23-24

School Conferences are an opportunity for you to see your child's progress in relation to the Curricular or Program of Study outcomes at this time in the school year. During the meeting, you will see some of your child's learning evidence and be able to ask questions to your child's teacher. Mrs. Skibbe and Mr. Hawken will be available for conferences so you can learn more about how your child is doing in music and phys-ed. Conference Booking is now open. Please log into your MyCBE account to book a conference time. 

Art Cards 

Your child has created a work of art at school and their sample card is in their backpack! You can find instructions on how to order on the inside of their sample card. Your order deadline is November 24 at midnight. Thank you for supporting literacy and numeracy initiatives at our school by ordering cards! 

Festival of Lights Winter Celebration December 7

Save the date! On Thursday December 7 from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm we will have a Festival of Lights Winter Celebration to have some winter fun, showcase student talent, and celebrate the diversity in our school. Staff and students are planning an eventful evening for Valley View families and more information will be shared soon.  

Lost and Found 

We will have all the lost and found items available for you to look through during the school conferences. Please make sure you stop by to take a look. All unclaimed items will be donated back to the school or to a local charity at the end of the month. To help your child with keeping their personal belongings, you may consider labelling their clothes. Thank you!
