Come to Valley View School on the evening of January 16 at 6 to 7 pm to get information about registering for the alternative program – Science.

Alternative Program - Science

  • In Science, students explore and investigate big questions related to the world around them. When students learn through the lens of science, they move beyond factual recall and develop the science-related attitudes, skills and knowledge needed to solve problems and make decisions. Students become lifelong learners by maintaining their sense of wonder about the world around them
  • In Science, students are provided with opportunities to develop the competencies required of engaged thinkers and ethical citizens with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Is the Science Program the Right Choice for my child?

A successful student demonstrates:

  • a love of science and curiosity about how the world works
  • willingness to take risks in learning and is comfortable with ambiguity
  • a resiliency for learning in outdoor environments in all weather conditions
  • a willingness to conform to uniform regulations when/where expected

Lottery opens January 13, 2025

Lottery closes at noon on February 11, 2025

Lottery draw is February 12, 2025             

Results of the draw are sent before Feb 27

Parents MUST (emphasis mine) accept/decline within 10 business days from the date of the acceptance letter

Open House is January 16, 2025 6 – 7 pm Science Program
