Dear Families,

There is so much to celebrate and we’re looking forward to sharing student learning and success with you next week. The Celebration of Learning is an important event which highlights the achievements of all our students. We’re looking forward to seeing you at school next Thursday May 16 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. A flyer with event details will be shared next week.

Cell Phones at School

Valley View School maintains a strict no-cell-phone policy for students. Despite this, we've noticed an increase in students using their cell phones to contact parents during school hours. Please note that cell phones are not permitted in school. If students need to reach you, they can speak with their teacher. Any student caught using a cell phone must surrender it to their teacher or the office until the end of the day. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring your child complies with this policy. Please be advised that any lost, stolen, or damaged phones on the school premises are the student's responsibility; the school bears no liability in such cases.

Scholastic Book Fair

We’re so excited to have the Scholastic Book Fair at Valley View School this year! Here is an outline of the upcoming week:

My 1st Ride Program

The CBE offers a school bus orientation program for first-time riders and their parents, called My 1st Ride. Attendants must register in advance. Spots are limited and are on a first-come, first-served basis. The program consists of a 20-minute presentation followed by a short ride on a school bus. Each new rider will also be given a certificate of completion. Staff from CBE Transportation, Calgary Catholic School District, Southland Transportation, and First Student are available for information and/or questions.

The sessions run every half hour between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Each session will take approximately 1 hour.

Please visit the CBE website for details.

If your child has come home wearing extra clothes from school, please wash them and return them. Also, if you have some extra pants to donate, we are accepting these items in the office. Thank you.
