Dear Families,
We hope you’ve had a wonderful Spring Break, making special memories with your child(ren). When we return on Monday, March 31st, we’ll be entering the final stretch of the school year. There are many exciting opportunities ahead, including outdoor learning experiences, school-wide Science Olympics, Grade 6 Camp Chief Hector, the Celebration of Learning in May, and Earth Day activities. We’re excited to welcome students back, refreshed and ready for new learning adventures.
Reminders for a Smooth Transition Back
As we settle back into routines, we appreciate your support in ensuring students arrive on time and ready to learn each day. With spring weather being unpredictable, please ensure your child comes dressed appropriately for varying conditions, especially for outdoor learning opportunities.
Family Engagement & Volunteer Opportunities
We always welcome parent volunteers! If you’re interested in helping with upcoming events, field trips, or school council initiatives, please reach out to your child's teacher for more details.
Additionally, we encourage families to stay engaged in their child’s learning by reading together, discussing school activities, and reinforcing positive learning habits at home. Your support makes a significant difference in student success.
Gratitude for School Council and Donors
A big thank you to the VVS School Council for all the work that's been done over the past several weeks. This includes planning and executing a successful Community Resource Fair and providing our teachers with an enjoyable supper during Parent-Teacher Conferences. We also look forward to having a new gym projector, screen and updated audio system! This will allow us to have more enjoyable presentations and opportunities for the community to get together for events like Movie Nights.
We also want to express our gratitude to the generous donors who have supported our school by funding field trips and special opportunities like the SoundKreations residency and Witty Squirrel Opera in February. Your contributions through Education Matters make a significant impact, ensuring all students have access to enriching learning experiences. Every dollar counts, no matter how big or small the amount!
