Dear Families,

As we head into April, the weather can be unpredictable. Mornings can be cold, afternoons may warm up, and we can still see snow, rain, or muddy conditions.

Please help your child come to school dressed in layers and prepared for outdoor learning and recess. This may include:

  • A warm jacket
  • Hat and mittens on cooler days
  • Waterproof footwear or boots for wet or muddy conditions
  • Clean pair of indoor shoes

We go outside daily whenever possible, so being dressed for the weather helps students stay comfortable and enjoy their day. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Passion Fridays

Next week, students will begin Passion Fridays. Passion Fridays provide students with the opportunity to explore new interests by working with a different teacher in a multi‑age group. Passion options include multi‑sport, filmmaking, STEM and LEGO, and more. Each Passion session will run for one hour and continue over a four‑week period. This initiative supports the CBE Student Well‑Being Framework by fostering a sense of belonging, promoting engagement, and encouraging students to develop their interests and strengths. We look forward to seeing students enjoy this engaging learning experience!

Complexity Team

The government has provided funding to support classrooms with higher levels of complexity. This support is focused on helping meet the diverse learning needs within classrooms.

Schools were selected by Alberta Education and Childcare using several factors, including classroom composition, class size, and overall complexity.

At our school, Mrs. Samantha Quinn, our current Resource Teacher, continues to support this work. We have also recently hired Ms. Larissa Donnelly to further strengthen this support. Ms. Donnelly works in a 0.6 FTE position on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

The Classroom Complexity Team will focus on:

  • Supporting inclusive teaching strategies
  • Helping with classroom organization and differentiated instruction
  • Providing targeted support in higher‑complexity classrooms
  • Building staff capacity to support diverse learning needs

We are grateful for the extra support for our students.

Gently Used Clothing Needed

If you have any gently used clothing or footwear to donate to the school to support students who may need an extra change of clothes or a pair of shoes, we would greatly appreciate your generosity. Please drop off clean clothes at the main office. Thank you for your continued support!

Scholastic Book Fair

Thank you to everyone who supported the Scholastic Book Fair this year! We raised just over $1,500 in cash back to our school through total sales. These funds will be used to purchase new, high‑interest books for our Learning Commons, including a variety of fiction and non‑fiction titles that support student choice, diverse interests, and reading engagement across grade levels.

We truly appreciate your support in helping grow our school’s love of reading!

Upcoming Dates:
